Working Together

"With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men"
- Ephesians 6:7 (KJV)

Perhaps a practical, everyday way to say this might be to work together and for each other. Just think of it. What if we all genuinely shared in each other's joys and sorrows and wanted the best for each other? We might be something like the friends of this man, as told in Mark 2:1-12.

A man in Capernaum was sick. He couldn't walk. He couldn't move. But his friends cared about him and they wanted to help. They were sure Jesus could make their friend well.

Four of the friends picked up the man by his sleeping mat and carried him to a house where Jesus was teaching. When they got there they found the house was so full of people that the men couldn't get inside.

But that did not stop the friends. Up, up, up they went, carrying their friend to the roof by the outside steps. They made a hole in the roof and then they lowered their friend by his mat to the floor right in front of Jesus.

At this Jesus stopped teaching. When He saw the man and what his friends went through to get him there, He said, "Get up, take your mat, and walk."

And the man got up and walked. He danced! He was so happy. And not just him. His friends were happy, too. They were happy for their friend and they were grateful to Jesus for healing their friend.

Gee. Working together. What a neat idea...
